Disclaimer - Data Privacy Statement and Consent to Use Service Application Data

Your privacy is important to ISKCON.
This statement (the “Privacy Statement”) aims at informing you of how ISKCON entities will use the information you submit when applying for a service at ISKCON (“Service Application Data").

All Service Application Data you submit to ISKCON through online or offline means is collected by the GBC Society, West Bengal.

What type of information is processed?

This Privacy Statement covers any Service Application Data you submit to ISKCON, such as:
  • Name, address, email address, telephone number, or other contact information
  • Information contained in the application form, in your CV or cover letter such as previous service or work experience, education, or other information you provide for ISKCON’s consideration
  • Type of service sought, willingness to relocate and travel, or other service preferences
  • Names and contact information for referrals.
    It is your responsibility to obtain consent from references before providing their personal information to us. For the avoidance of doubt, ISKCON does not wish to receive any confidential or proprietary (or patented) information which you have received from your previous services places or employers.

Who may access your data?

Only select personnel of ISKCON - such as your potential future mentor(s), personnel of the GBC Nominations Committee, and IT (for maintenance purposes only) - and select personnel of the GBC’s Organizational Development Committee who support ISKCON with the strategy and development of recruitment and applications, have access to your Service Application Data.
ISKCON is a global organization, with branches, legal entities, IT systems, management structures and processes that cross borders. Service Application Data may be shared with other ISKCON entities in other jurisdictions, for service consideration purposes.
ISKCON will not supply any data to any third party other than those identified above without your express authorization.

Applicable law

ISKCON recognizes that certain laws may require stricter standards than those described in the present Privacy Statement. ISKCON entities will handle Service Application Data in accordance with local law applicable at the place where the Service Application Data are processed. Where applicable local law provides less protection than that established by this Privacy Statement, ISKCON will handle your Job Application Data in accordance with the present Privacy Statement.

Your choice

Providing your Service Application Data is voluntary. However, if you choose not to provide all of the data that is requested for your application, our ability to consider you as a candidate may be limited.

For what purposes will Job Application Data be used?

The Service Application Data you provide will be used to assess your application for service engagement at ISKCON (or any affiliated ISKCON entity), to verify your information and conduct reference checks, and to communicate with you and inform you of further service opportunities.
If you accept service engagement with ISKCON (or an affiliated ISKCON entity), the information collected will become part of your service engagement record and will be used for service engagement purposes.

How long will ISKCON keep your data

Your Service Application Data is stored in our applicant’s data base for ten (10) years from your most recent submission of Service Application Data. You can access your Service Application Data, correct it or delete it at any time as explained below.

Your rights

You can access your Service Application Data, correct it or delete it at any time by contacting your application mentor assigned to you by the GBC’S Nominations Committee.

Your consent

By submitting your Service Application Data you are granting your consent to the processing of that information (including to the transfer of your Service Application Data with other ISKCON entities worldwide) in accordance with this Privacy Statement.
